Canadian Skiing and Snowboarding Holiday Resort links below. Enjoy your winter vacation this season in Canada, Skiing British Columbia.

British Columbia is Canada's ski and snowboard playground. Brushy Mountain Ski Chalet, located in BC's Kootenay region is right in the heart of Skiing Canada. The new, two bedroom ski chalets are nestled in the trees only a few feet from the snowboard runs at the Salmo Ski snowboard area. Ideal for two to four people, the two bedroom chalets can sleep up to six guests.

But we're not just about skiing and snowboarding. Red Mountain ski area at Rossland, and Whitewater ski area at Nelson BC are only 1/2 to 3/4 hour drive. We are also close to at least seven golf courses, countless lakes, lounges, rivers, restaurants, mountain-tops and curio shops.

Each cabin is a fully self contained ski home. Complete with full kitchen, phone, satellite TV & radio. Brushy Mountain Ski Chalet is your home away from home.

With  combined  ski and sleep rates  starting at $70 per person, and golfing packages priced lower,  you will not find a better Ski or snowboard package. Ski & snowboard to your door accommodation.

Brushy Mountain Ski Chalets make a great base for day-tripping.  Explore all the wonderful sights and experiences that the Kootenays have to offer.
Try driving to the top of  Kootenay Pass, the highest mountain pass in Canada.

Friday and Saturday evenings you can spend a night out on the town checking out the wildlife, or for about $500 you can rent the whole hill for yourself. Then ski down to the t-bar on Saturday and Sunday mornings  to be the  first to cut fresh tracks on the freshly groomed corduroy

Why ski at just one hill all week, when you can ski three mountains  from Brushy Mountain's central location

If backcountry skiing and snowboarding is your thing, you'll find plenty of it, and snow to match at  Stagleap Provincial Park.
At the top of the Kootenay Pass,  it is the tallest  mountain highway pass open year round in Canada. And it's only 20 minutes drive from here.

There's a little bit of Salmo's story on almost every corner. Considered the hub of the Kootenays, located at the crossroads of Highways 3B and 6, the tale of this quiet town is chronicled in a most unique fashion. Seven elaborate stone murals paint a picture of the community's most precious characteristics – it's proud mining and forestry heritage, big game and big rigs, many of which roll through town en route to destinations in all directions. Designed by Charlotte Plainden, the murals were created with local stone in 1990 by students enrolled at Salmo's Kootenay Stone Masonry Training Centre.

Once known for prosperous mines and famous for groves of giant cedar trees, Salmo, though still economically dependent on extractive resources and proud of it's lively history, is now a more diversified community. Tourists are finding this friendly, peaceful community that lies in a virtually undiscovered Mecca of outdoor recreational opportunities. The surrounding evergreen forests provide habitat for an abundance of big game animals and the streams and mountain lakes harbor a myriad of trout species. The vast backcountry fairly begs exploration from hikers, hunters, skiers, and snowmobiliers. For skiing in its more natural state, Salmo Ski Hill will give you a thrill. Salmo also has a 9-hole golf course. Hop on the new “Rails to Trails” bike path here and peddle all the way to Nelson. Its gentle grade and many turn of the century trestles provide some fanatic scenery along the way.

Salmo is also home to the “Oldest Phone Booth in the World.” Look for signs of old mines high on many of the hill sides where once they produced gold, silver, lead, zinc and tungsten. History buffs will enjoy the Salmo Museum for a glimpse into the villages past.

Stagleap Provincial Park is situated east of Salmo toward Creston on Hwy 3. Big horn sheep are often seen on this scenic drive over Kootenay Pass at 1774 meters. The park has a lovely alpine lake and picnic area directly adjacent to the highway. Hiking and Nordic skiing trails are found in the area.

Just west of Salmo on Highway 3B is the Loop's Rivers, Dams & Mines Super Side Trip. Salmo is the closest community with services (15 mi / 20 km) near the international border crossing at Nelway.

Salmo Ski area in the west Kootenays of British Columbia is famous for its night skiing on fully lit runs that are always groomed to perfection. Salmo Ski Area offers a wide variety of skiing opportunities for all ages and levels. The hill has varied terrain including groomed runs, gently sloping runs, moguls, steep slopes, pristine powder, racing courses, a half pipe for snowboarders, a bunny hill, and cross country ski trails.

Salmo Ski Hill is a volunteer-run ski hill with very friendly staff, excellent skiing both during the day and the night, and no lift lines. It's a really great place to bring your family and have some fun.

Salmo Ski Hill is located in the Kootenays, 12.5 miles (20 km) south of Salmo, 28 miles (45 km) southeast of Castlegar, and 31 miles (50 km) south of Nelson.

Located right on the slopes of the Salmo Ski Area (pictured above and at  upper left below), this is where we really shine.  From the moment you arrive, and have your luggage  shuttled the last hundred yards by snow-mobile, you know you're in snow country.
Go ski the steep and deep of  world renowned Red Mtn ski area and Whitewater ski areas during the day, then come home for some more relaxed skiing after dinner,  Monday to Thursday at the only night skiing in the area.
