Remembering Travis Steeger
- Video
Truly one of a kind. Travis Steeger's 'sponsor me' video
submission was the best and most entertaining we have ever
received. He will always be a part of the Armada family. May he
rest in peace. Travis
Steeger was a shinning star. His sponsor me video was the best I
have ever seen come across my desk at Armada: double front flips
off 50 foot cliffs, 40 foot cab 900s off cliffs with his jacket
open?!? Read

Cold Smoke Powder Keg
Booter
As the little groms impressed the crowd lining the cat
track, most of the talk swirled around the double front-flip
skills of 17-year-old local, Travis Steeger. In the open
division, Steeger, who appeared in POWDER’s February issue
Shooting Gallery, stomped a double front off a 20-foot cliff
sending it about 40 feet. It was big and elicited a lot of talk.
All of you who had the honour and the
pleasure of counting Travis as a friend or an acquaintance
already knew how this young man could influence the positive
thinking of a group of peers, how bright he was as a scholar
and what a good friend he could be. Let his memory stand as a
beacon for all of you to follow. No doubt, there are some who
were better skiers, or obtained better marks at school, or who
were more modest with their successes, but I doubt there were
many who could put it all on the line and claim to stand
taller than our fallen friend. If you need a role model, you
could do much worse than Travis Steeger. Wayne Prentice,
Retired Principal
