Car Pagani Zonda Insurance Car

The Pagani Zonda F is a custom built car made primarily of carbon fiber, of aluminum alloys, titanium, avional, chrome-molybdenum alloy and selected leathers. Some of these materials are transformed using the most advanced technologies, others, by the best craftsmen.

The idea has been to create a car that was light, safe, original yet offering great performance, using the best technology available and inspired by racing cars, the same concept that inspired the creation of the fantastic Miura of the ‘60’s.

Fangio wanted it to be equipped with a Mercedes-Benz engine and his wish has become reality thanks to AMG who have provided Pagani with their 12 cylinder engine; A lightweight motor, with over 600 bhp and 576 lb-ft of torque.

Pagani checks the quality of each individual piece and collects the technical data to form a manual; one for each car, creating a detailed and faithful representation, much the same as an artist’s portrait. Only in aviation does this happen today.

Aerodynamics

When it starts moving, the Zonda F slices through the air with hardly any effort. Some of its power is used to force the car down onto the tarmac resulting in a very strong ground effect, so that the tires are glued to the road, transferring all the car’s power and torque to it.

According to a simple equation the grip is a result of the material’s friction coefficient times the applied force. This principle can then be turned into top rate performance if the tire size and the vehicle speed are record breaking.

Aerodynamics however are even more crucial where safety is concerned: when breaking for an emergency, when reaction times are even more critical and when road holding can make all the difference.

It’s not just about having a cutting-edge carbon-ceramic breaking system. Effective breaking is dependant on exploiting an array of forces; by utilizing the shock absorber geometry, the low center of gravity and the reduced weight, Pagani managed to keep the car as flat on the ground as possible while countering any pitching effect. This way even the rear tires remain stuck to the ground.

Safety and Comfort

The Pagani Zonda F a very reactive, safe car, with no roll to speak of. Through its Nardi steering wheel, one’s hands feel directly in contact with the road surface.

The electronics are kept to a minimum.

While the comfort is unusual for a super car capable of reaching speeds of over 214 mph because these days no client wants an instrument of torture as his car. Nevertheless Pagani has never wavered from their original idea of quality and performance without compromise.

The Mercedes engine is incredibly smooth and the noise level inside the vehicle, together with the almost total absence of vibration - thanks to careful design - guarantees an unprecedented degree of comfort, in this case of vehicle. Total weight is contained within 1.250 kg, while the torsional stiffness constitutes a record: 26.300 Nm/deg. for the ZONDA S. In fact, the car’s structure has been further reinforced to deal with the stress of the 7 litre engine. But the novelty and focal point in terms of performance is the new Mercedes AMG V12 engine with 550 Hp max power and 750 Nm of torque which is second to none. The excellent craftsmanship of the Mecedes AMG technicians has produced an engine that offers an extreme and exciting performance while respecting the highest technological standards. This engine is docile and fluid in low gear driving and offers a power control almost unknown in this class. To better control the increased performance a new 6 gear transmission has been designed and will be introduced in July also for the C12 version.

To complete the technical picture – already excellent for this category - there is the outstanding Brembo braking system using vented discs with four calipers front and rear. 18” alloy wheels supplied by O.Z racing, complete the running gear.

The dynamic personality of the ZONDA in all driving conditions make it a real object of pleasure to use. Normally the super cars in this category don’t offer the maximum in extreme drivability. They forgo comfort, spaciousness and real driving experiences for pure engine power. The ZONDA is far from this kind of thinking and is admired by the real car connoisseur because it offers a completely different experience. Road stability is excellent and is made so by the first-rate suspension system and the rigid frame as well as the efficient aerodynamics of the body: at a speed of 200 km/h the downforce is equal to a load of 100Kg at the front and 130Kg at the rear. In normal driving conditions the ZONDA offers a comfortable and relaxed driving experience. But can, on command, become a true supercar, unleashing the driving spirit that’s in every sportscar enthusiast. This dual personality that is a feature of the ZONDA allows any driver the distinctive pleasure of an exceptional driving experience. The pitch of the ZONDA is clear, powerful, unforgettable: the sound of a champion

from Pagani Press Release)  Juan Manuel Fangio was much more than a great champion. His accuracy, his uprightness, and his human and technical sensibility were among his qualities, typical of the old-time men, they have been for me, an example and an inspiration source. Very often, I ask myself how something so material, like a drawing or a technical choice, can express and convey the philosophy of such a men. The name of “el coche”, the way he used to call the car, should have been Fangio F1. He followed the project with a strong enthusiasm, according to his ideas the F1 had to be innovative, safe and had to be powered by a Mercedes-Benz engine. He then passed away and as a sign of respect I did not dare to call the car Fangio F1 and I decided to name it Zonda, “el viento de los Andes”. Today, after years spent in a rigorous search for perfection, the result is the Zonda F, a car that I wish to dedicate to Juan Manuel Fangio, the man who has made everything different.
